AUSTIN -- Apparently, there is no crying in Texas football.
First-year coach Tom Herman said he shed no tears after the double-overtime road loss Saturday to Southern California.
"There were some primal screams," Herman said. "One in the shower and one when I got home."
Of course those yells came before Herman had gotten the full medical update on the injured left knee of All-American offensive tackle Connor Williams and before he was quizzed Monday about the incredible shrinking Texas ground game.
For all the optimism generated by aspects of the narrow loss to a national power -- like a resurgent defense -- Herman still has problems to fix before traveling to Iowa State for a problematic Thursday night game Sept.
