On Monday evening, the school confirmed that Texas Longhorns freshman tight end Cade Brewer will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL.
Brewer, a first-year Longhorn who had seen extensive playing time as a freshman this season, had been starting at tight end since the second game of the season when Texas lost junior tight end Garrett Gray to a knee injury.
The loss of Gray came after Texas lost senior tight end Andrew Beck to a broken ankle during fall camp in mid-August.
