Texas football garners a ton of off-season and preseason hype before the start of each year. It’s just become habit for the media to at least speculate of the Longhorns will return to national prominence each season. The recruiting prowess, vast resources, and talent level that’s present for the Horns every season does prove that some of this hype is warranted.
It does seem like we should wait for some results on the field before seriously expecting Texas football to make a real run at the College Football Playoff. Texas has some pretty significant Playoff odds this year ahead of programs like the Miami Hurricanes and Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
