Texas Basketball: 4 lessons learned from upset win over Purdue

One of the biggest games of the non-conference slate, potentially could be the biggest when it’s all said and done, for Texas basketball resulted in a solid 70-66 upset on the road over the No. 23 Purdue Boilermakers. Texas got the best of Purdue by playing solid defense and getting a big night out of their starting backcourt.

A very efficient night shooting from the field also helped nab this four-point victory for head Texas basketball coach Shaka Smart and his squad. Texas shot around 50 percent from three-point range and better than 50 percent from the field in general.
