Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns, along with several other Big 12 programs, made the final cut for five-star center Daimion Collins. The in-state prospect plays high school basketball at Atlanta and also played for former Oklahoma Sooner great Blake Griffin’s AAU team in past summers.
Listed at 6’8, 190-pounds, there’s room for Collins to grow into his long frame. He’s extremely mobile, has soft hands, and can leap off the floor quick for someone his size. Offensively, he’s a bit raw beyond the paint area, but has potential to be an effective mid-range scorer.
