It’s time to stop rooting for Kevin Sumlin to leave

If you aren’t one of these people, you probably know one. They are in abundance on social media, particularly during football games when things aren’t going well. It’s a mantra that’s become a mindless, zombie chant that they think will somehow alleviate all the imperfections inherent in Texas A&M Football: “FIRE SUMLIN.”

My good friend Lucas Jackson commented on this phenomenon during a recent Bullcast recording: people love the notion of firing someone. It makes them feel powerful. They love the simplicity and detachment of simply cutting off someone’s vocation as a concise and complete solution to whatever failings may be associated with the position.
