When Tennessee football kicked off spring practice a month and a half ago, it was very clear that the new coaching staff was starting from scratch. Jeremy Pruitt and co. were installing brand new systems and looking for competitors on both sides of the ball.
As a result, we had numerous posts about the key position battles and the players who needed to step up. Those are generally stories that arise during spring ball, but they meant more than ever this time simply due to what the new staff was looking for.
Well, with the spring game over, Pruitt’s quietness made it difficult for us to figure out the guys who really did stand out.
