There’s no avoiding this now. Tennessee football head coach Butch Jones officially arrived on the hot seat Saturday after his horrendous coaching cost the Vols a game they should have won in The Swamp.
I have been one of Jones’s staunchest defenders, imploring Rocky Top to be patient with him when the team struggled towards the end of last year.
After Saturday, I can’t defend him any longer.
Butch Jones has had too many in-game coaching screw-ups now to defend. For the most part, they’re okay because you figure that he is stacking the roster with enough talent to alleviate those concerns.
