Last year in the Tennessee Titans home matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Taylor Lewan missed one play after getting hurt, and on that play Yannick Ngakoue beat Dennis Kelly for a strip-sack.
That isn’t to say that Dennis Kelly isn’t a good tackle, but rather to point out that if you don’t have a top in talent blocking Ngakoue, something bad is going to happen sooner or later.
So you can understand why the Jacksonville Jaguars wanted to make sure that they kept the young star under contract by franchise tagging him before the offseason really started.
