What Syracuse football players said about looming QB decision

Syracuse, N.Y. -- Syracuse football coach Dino Babers has a quarterback decision to make, one that will draw intense interest from outside the program.

The Eric Dungey-Tommy DeVito debate had been bubbling under the surface since the offseason. Anyone with a rooting interest in the Orange staked their opinion to it, dissecting different scenarios in which one should play over the other.

It finally nudged itself front and center of Babers at the 5:07 mark of the fourth quarter of Saturday's 40-37, double-overtime victory against North Carolina. Unlike the Western Michigan opener or Florida State game in mid-September, this QB swap was made in an effort to win a game that served as a teeter-totter moment in a season that has held as much promise as any since the Orange joined the ACC in 2013.
