Saturday’s matchup with the North Carolina Tar Heels was one in which the Syracuse football team was expected to come out with a win. The game was being played on the Orange’s home field inside the Carrier Dome and North Carolina was coming into the matchup with just one victory in 2018.
Early in the third quarter on Saturday, Syracuse led the Tar Heels by a score of 20-7 and it appeared that the Orange were well on their way to an easy win. However, North Carolina went on to score 20 unanswered points and led Syracuse 27-20 as time was winding down in the fourth quarter.
