Kim in command: Cardinals lefty throws six scoreless, combines with Goldschmidt to clobber Cubs, 6-0

CHICAGO — Before Saturday’s game, as they picked apart the Cubs lineup on paper before doing so with pitches, lefty Kwang Hyun Kim and catcher Yadier Molina discussed how a relatively new pitch for Kim would work against what he called “a lot of extra-base hitters, sluggers.”

If he could show them a change, Kim would get those strikeouts he sought.

“I don’t think I shook my head with Yadi’s sign,” the lefty said.

Kim struck out seven and closed out the first half of his second season in the majors with six more shutout innings in a 6-0 victory against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
