Cardinals sign Luke Gregerson

As first reported by Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, the St. Louis Cardinals have signed reliever Luke Gregerson to a two-year, $11 million contract. Also included is a 2020 option, with the Cardinals having the option to re-sign Gregerson for $5 million, while a third year is automatically added for $6 million if he pitches in 130 games for the Cardinals.

Gregerson, 33, was initially drafted by the Cardinals in the 28th round of the 2006 MLB Draft out of St. Xavier University. On March 23, 2009, he was sent to the San Diego Padres to complete a previously-completed trade for shortstop Khalil Greene.
