It started with a full line change from Rick Pitino after just three minutes, but it ended in a triumphant rout for the St. John’s basketball team.
With a trip to Las Vegas and three monster games lurking, the No. 14 Red Storm looked like they had their bags packed as the ball was tipped against Bucknell on Thursday night, starting the game 2-of-13 from the field.
But after Pitino went to his bench, the Johnnies got rolling and never looked back.
Trailing 10-6 seven minutes into the game, St. John’s would outscore Bucknell 35-15 for the remainder of the half and poured it on after halftime, winning 97-49.
