PHILADELPHIA, OCT. 16, 2017 – Picked to finish second in the league, USF talked about its determination to reach a new level of success this season at the American Athletic Conference Basketball Tipoff on Monday.
Head coach Jose Fernandez's talented squad features two preseason all-conference picks – junior guard Kitija Laksa and senior forward Maria Jespersen – four starters and seven letter winners returning from last season's 24-win team. USF played in the conference championship game for the third consecutive season and made the program's third straight NCAA tournament trip.
