Man Utd star Greenwood issues apology after being sent home from England camp

Mason Greenwood has issued an apology saying his actions while on international duty in Iceland, which led to him being dropped from the England squad, were "irresponsible".

The Manchester United attacker was sent home from England duty on Monday after reports in Iceland claimed he and Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden had met up with local girls in the team hotel and consequently broken strict Covid-19 rules.

The pair were both fined £1,360 for the breach of pandemic rules and both were criticised by England manager Gareth Southgate and their respective clubs.
