Seahawks sign Cardale Jones to practice squad

The Seattle Seahawks have signed quarterback Cardale Jones to the practice squad. The former LA Chargers QB was teammates with current Seattle backup Geno Smith in 2018 and will be reunited with him on the practice field for the Seahawks.

Jones became a fleeting star at Ohio State, helping the Buckeyes win the national championship in 2014 despite relatively little experience and off-field concerns that he wasn’t very motivated as a football player. Jones shot to fame in the Big 10 championship that season as Ohio State blew out Wisconsin 59-0, then defeated Alabama in the first round of the CFP with Jones at the helm and Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield.
