Three takeaways: Boedker gets greasy with two goals in Sharks win

GLENDALE — After steamrolling the Anaheim Ducks and the Vegas Golden Knights, the Sharks received their first taste of adversity this preseason as they took the show on the road to the desert.

The Sharks fell behind the Arizona Coyotes 3-0 in the game’s first 9:15 before battling back to earn a 5-4 shootout win at the Gila River Arena in Glendale Saturday night.

The Coyotes capitalized on a flurry of defensive miscues early before the Sharks took over in the middle of the first, outshooting the Devils Dogs 40-22 over the game’s final 55 minutes.

Tim Heed clinched the win with a top-shelf blast in the fifth round of the shootout.
