WASHINGTON — Tomas Hertl’s third goal of the game, less than two minutes into overtime, capped a furious rally and gave the Sharks a 7-6 victory over the Washington Capitals on Tuesday night.
The Sharks had tied the game with one second left in regulation on a goal by Evander Kane.
The game was tied four times after the Sharks took a 1-0 on Joe Pavelski’s 27th goal of the season 12 seconds into the game. The Sharks never led again til the end.
It was as if the teams couldn’t wait three more days for All Star Weekend to get underway in San Jose.
