SAN JOSE — Pete DeBoer bristled at a question about his line combinations after the first day of Sharks training camp Friday, insisting that it’s way too early to start having that conversation.
But after four days of camp, a rough outline of his line preferences are starting to take form.
DeBoer isn’t one to carve his lines into stone. He likes interchangeable pieces that he can move up and down the lineup. But the Sharks coach does prefer to lay down foundations for his lines by forming solid duos on each unit. The third piece can be moved in and out based on performance and suitability.
