Johnny Cueto has been inching his way back from Tommy John surgery for the last year and change. He was on schedule to return after a couple more rehab starts, presumably to return at some point in September. However, there has been talk lately that the Giants might be trying to rush him back sooner in order for him to be able to contribute to the hunt for a Wild Card spot.
Personally, and I don’t think I’m alone in this, I don’t know if that’s a good idea. I’m all for the Giants doing what they can to try to be competitive now, don’t get me wrong.
