SAN DIEGO — The Giants would like a redo. Not just on Sunday’s game. Or the first series since the All-Star break. But the entire season. All 93 games and counting.
The momentum certainly has not shifted after everyone except All-Star Buster Posey took four days off to reset, refresh and re-energize. The Giants still are getting creamed by mediocre teams without putting up much of a fight.
Sunday’s 7-1 loss to the Padres was over early when the hosts scored seven times off Jeff Samardzija, who coughed up three-run homers to ex-Giant Hector Sanchez and Corey Spangenberg.
