SCOTTSDALE — When the Giants made the controversial decision to non-tender Kevin Pillar this offseason, many fans expected the center fielder to find a new home with relative ease.
It ultimately took more than two months for Pillar to land with the Boston Red Sox, but that doesn’t mean his old team has settled on his replacement in center field. Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported the two sides “are close” to an agreement and Ken Rosenthal said the contract will be a major league, guaranteed deal if completed.
