If Giants and Phillies finish tied for baseball’s worst record, who gets the No.1 overall draft pick?

LOS ANGELES – The Giants still own the worst record in the major leagues, but their draft position in 2018 is far from settled as they enter the final week of the season.

They are 61-94. So are the Philadelphia Phillies. If those two clubs finish the season with identical records, the Phillies would be awarded the top pick in next June’s draft because they had a worse record in 2016.

Then you have the free-falling Detroit Tigers, who just announced that manager Brad Ausmus will not return. The Tigers are just a game better at 62-93.
