With pitchers and catchers set to report to the Giants’ complex in Scottsdale on Tuesday, the team announced one of the players expected to compete for a roster spot won’t be available to play.
Catcher Aramis Garcia underwent arthroscopic hip surgery on Thursday to repair his labrum and will miss the next six-to-eight months. The surgery was performed by Dr. Marc Philippon in Vail, Co. after Garcia suffered a hip injury playing winter ball in the Dominican Republic.
