The San Francisco Giants season is over.
The Giants entered Sunday — the final day of the regular season — needing a win over the San Diego Padres, and needing the St. Louis Cardinals to beat the Milwaukee Brewers.
The Cardinals held up their end of the deal, but the Giants couldn’t hold up theirs.
It’s a disappointing end to the season after the Giants surprised everyone with their performance. In hindsight, the Giants needed just one win in their final three games to make the postseason, but they came up short.
