Thanks to the helping hand of A’s outfielder Tyler Soderstrom, San Francisco Giants outfielder Tyler Fitzgerald’s ball that looked to be a few feet short of the Sutter Health Park fence ended up going over.
Fitzgerald hit what you’d call a unique home run in the eighth inning of Sunday night’s 6-2 Giants win in front of thousands of their fans in West Sacramento thanks to a miscue from the A’s left fielder. Soderstrom tracked a fly ball deep to a step or two in front of the left field fence and leaped in front of the Golden 1 Credit Union sign to try to catch the ball.
