To start the month, there was a report that the San Francisco 49ers were interested in acquiring Denver Broncos veteran receiver Emmanuel Sanders. Benjamin Allbright, a talk show host for Iheartradio—who has also broken the news, followed up on that report earlier this week. Allbright said several teams have called about Sanders, and they’ve all been told he’s “not available” right now. The teams included New England, Green Bay, San Francisco, New Orleans, and others.
Gauging the Niners’ interest is impossible. John Lynch could have made a serious inquiry where he offered a high-round pick, or it could have been the type of call where the general manager sees if Sanders is available.
