San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo set social media on fire when he called Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews “baby” following his team’s 28-25 victory over the Arizona Cardinals last week.
When asked by Andrews how it felt to be 8-0, Garoppolo responded with, “Feels great, baby.”
A number of social media users were quick to accuse the quarterback of “shooting his shot,” but Garoppolo denied Thursday that there was any flirtatious intent.
“I didn’t expect it to blow up like that,” Garoppolo told reporters. “It is what it is.
