49ers left tackle Trent Williams is trying to recover from his sprained ankle in time to take the field on Sunday against the Colts. The pressure could be on rookie lineman Jaylon Moore to take his place. Moore, a fifth-round pick in this year’s draft out of Western Michigan, has served as the Niners swing tackle all year but has only played 22 offensive snaps this season.
In 49ers offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel’s weekly media availability, he gave a ringing endorsement of Moore’s readiness if he is asked to take the bulk of snaps at left tackle this season.
