San Diego Padres: No Surprises At Friday’s Deadline

Friday’s deadline to tender contracts to arbitration-eligible players has come and gone with no surprises coming from the San Diego Padres. All six arbitration-eligible players were offered contracts by the Padres, preventing any of them from entering free agency.

As news of contract deals rolled in on Friday afternoon, Fancred’s Jon Heyman reported that San Diego was able to settle on financial details for two players, recently acquired infielder Greg Garcia and starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell. Both will earn $910,000 next season.

The team now has until January 11th to finalize salaries for catcher Austin Hedges, outfielder Travis Jankowski, reliever Kirby Yates, and pitcher Robbie Erlin.
