Good Thursday morning, San Diego Padres fans. We are one day closer to the 2018 MLB winter meetings in Las Vegas, meaning one day closer to, hopefully, many big moves across the league. Even though the meetings don’t begin until Monday morning, that hasn’t stopped a few teams from shaking up the landscape and jumping on franchise-changing deals.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Arizona Diamondbacks completed a move that sent first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, the face of the franchise, to the St. Louis Cardinals in exchange for RHP Luke Weaver, catcher Carson Kelly, INF Andy Young, and a draft pick.
