Padres notes: Myers centered; Perdomo effective; blowing it on bases

It was not his farthest nor the hardest, but Wil Myers’ 100th career home run was arguably the best struck.

“I’d never hit one like that,” Myers said of his blast just to the right of dead center field Monday night. “That was a stroke. I hit that one good. I liked the one off (Madison) Bumgarner a little bit better, but that one right there was pretty cool, too.”

Myers’ solo homer in the ninth inning off the Rockies’ Scott Oberg was estimated to have traveled 428 feet, which was 28 feet shorter than his homer to right-center against the Giants’ Bumgarner on opening day.
