MLB set to outline plans for season; players reportedly unhappy

Major League Baseball has been working on plans since the coronavirus first caused the suspension of spring training and postponement of the season, and it appears players will receive their first official proposal to allow for games this year.

Then the real work will begin.

According to multiple reports, owners will present the MLB Players Association with a plan for a shortened 2020 season as soon as Monday night.

The plan calls for games to begin the first week of July without fans in attendance, at least at the start. The hope is those games will be staged at each team’s home ballparks.
