Minors: MLB’s proposal a ‘shell game’ to yank 42 teams out of their communities

Now, Minor League Baseball is clapping back.

Major League Baseball’s plan to transition minor league teams on the chopping block into so-called Dream League teams “is nothing more than a shell game designed to conceal the fact that its contraction plan” will yank baseball out of 42 communities, Minor League Baseball contended in a lengthy memo aimed at several of Commissioner Rob Manfred’s comments this week at the Winter Meetings.

With the current Professional Baseball Agreement expiring after 2020, MLB is using the current negotiating window to propose improving ballparks, compensation and working conditions for minor league players, and lessen the travel demand.
