Manuel Margot, again, teased at his potential last July via the best month of his career.
The home runs — three to be exact — were nice. More importantly as a table-setting piece, Margot walked (15) more than he fanned (13) in getting on base at a .390 clip.
The 25-year-old Dominican will need to show more of that if he’s going to hold onto what very well could be a contested role in the Padres’ outfield now that the left-handed Trent Grisham is part of the mix, and perhaps a productive winter will allow Margot to carry some momentum into spring training.
