Josh Naylor’s name may come up quite a bit this offseason.
A fast start to his stay in the Dominican winter league certainly won’t hurt his trade market.
The 22-year-old outfielder collected three hits in his first seven at-bats over the weekend with Escogido, Naylor’s first foray into offseason ball since landing on the Arizona Fall League all-prospect team as a first baseman in December 2017.
A lot has happened since then.
Most importantly, Naylor has moved to a corner outfield spot in an attempt to keep a powerful bat in play for the Padres following Eric Hosmer’s arrival.
