The evolution of the three point game in the NBA

During last night’s game between the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans, JJ Redick hit his 1,827th three point shot, tying him with Kobe Bryant for 14th all time. Bryant played twenty seasons. Redick matched him in only his fourteenth season.

In fact, of the the top twenty all-time NBA three-point shooters, ten are active players. Stephen Curry, the three-point master, is in his eleventh season. He’s third all-time with 2,492 treys, only behind Ray Allen and Reggie Miller. And that’s after playing only four games this season and another with twenty-six games in 2011-12.
