Since training camp began, the San Antonio Spurs have played without Kawhi Leonard. He suffered a quad injury at an unknown point in the offseason, which caused him to miss camp, the preseason and the first 17 games of the regular season.

As of this writing, the Spurs have not provided a return timetable for Leonard. Based on head coach Gregg Popovich’s latest comments, however, the organization won’t know when he’ll be back for a while.

According to ESPN’s Michael C. Wright, Popovich said, he’s “never” seen anything like what Leonard has dealt with, in regard to his quad injury.
