After years of speculation, the NBA will soon a significant step towards expansion. Aside from facing two new teams every year, it will seemingly be business as usual for the San Antonio Spurs, right?
Not exactly. With two new teams, that likely means there will be an expansion draft in which the Spurs could protect only eight players.
That may force San Antonio to make some surprising roster decisions. However, equally as important is the fact that a Western Conference team will have to join the East.
According to NBA insider Shams Charania, either the Minnesota Timberwolves or Memphis Grizzlies would likely head to the Eastern Conference.
