The NFL Network reports that the Houston Texans have restructured the contract of wide receiver Brandin Cooks. Houston will void his contract in the final year, which means he’ll be a free agent in 2022.
In exchange, Houston will convert $10 million of his salary into a signing bonus and add an extra $1 million over the final two seasons of his deal. This essentially guarantees his 2021 salary and saves the Texans over $6 million in the salary cap.
Cooks had another productive season last year. It was the fifth time in his career with over 1,000 receiving yards.
