Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports reports that the Celtics have now ruled out Marcus Smart for Wednesday’s game against the Cavaliers. Smart picked up a contusion in his right calf after playing 33 minutes in a 129-121 home loss to the Miami Heat.

With the Celtics trailing the sixth seed in the conference by three games with possibly three more games remaining on their schedule, it’s unlikely that they can improve their standing to avoid the playoff play-in tournament.
