Former Premier League star and boxer Curtis Woodhouse has been handed a heavy fine after admitting to assaulting his cousin outside a pub last year, according to reports.

The ex-Birmingham City midfielder punched his cousin Alexander Woodhouse outside the Spread Eagle pub in Driffield, Yorkshire on August 20 after a disagreement between the pair at a family gathering.

The argument started when Alexander made an unpleasant remark towards Curtis and kicked him in the leg in the toilets.

Curtis later went to bury the hatchet with Alexander outside, but was met with an aggressive reaction, leading to him throwing a punch after claiming he could 'anticipate' that his cousin was going to try and land the first blow.
