Steelers HC Mike Tomlin thought he was assembling a supergroup on defense this year. With most of the results in, maybe it’s a referendum. At least that’s what longtime former Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette thinks, resurfacing on the Chipped Ham and Football podcast. Sure, it may be a podcast, but at least it’s not a blog.
Anyway, it’s clear that Bouchette hasn’t gone completely underground in his retirement. He has continue to follow the Steelers, though “with interest” may be going too far. And he certainly hasn’t forgotten Tomlin’s pre-season remarks about the “historic” potential of his defense.
