Tarik Cohen poses a challenge for Steelers special teams

It is not the Steelers defense, which ranks third in the league after two games, that has been the most pleasant surprise of the young season.

Perhaps just as responsible for their 2-0 start heading into Sunday’s game in Chicago is their special teams.

That’s right, the special teams.

The unit that has been without many memorable moments the past couple seasons has already supplied significant plays in each of the first two games against the Cleveland Browns and Minnesota Vikings, resulting in 10 points, or 21.3 percent of their total scoring.

“I said all the time, people forget it’s a third of the game, it’s just as important as the offense and defense,” said inside linebacker Tyler Matakevich.
