As NFL teams continue to respond with statements of support for their league and commissioner Roger Goodell, Steelers President Art Rooney II weighed in with a short statement Saturday night.
"I believe the commissioner made an appropriate statement and I have nothing to add at this time," Rooney stated.
Reaction came swiftly across the NFL after President Donald Trump demanded teams "fire or suspend" players who refused to stand during the National Anthem.
"The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture," Commissioner Goodell said in a statement released by the NFL.
