Steelers place Smith-Schuster on IR, activate Banner

The Steelers on Saturday placed wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster on season-ending injured reserve, activating offensive tackle Zach Banner to take his place on the roster.

The move comes as the Steelers (2-3) prepare to host the Seahawks (2-3) Sunday night at Heinz Field.

Smith-Schuster suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery in last Sunday's 27-19 win over the Broncos at Heinz Field. The fifth-year receiver finishes the season with 15 receptions for 129 yards.

Banner was slated to be the team's starting right tackle heading into training camp this year but was placed on injured reserve at the start of the season as he continued to recover from a torn ACL suffered in last year's regular season opener.
