NFL Notes: 49ers, Broncos, Steelers
- Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area writes that the 49ers will have plenty of cap space in 2018 to aggressively target QB Kirk Cousins in free agency, assuming that the Redskins don’t franchise him for a third time.
- As of now, the 49ers have $66.8 million of cap room to work with and the expectation is that they’ll roll that over to next year, which should leave them with a staggering amount of cap room to work with.
- While it’s possible Cousins could struggle this season, Maiocco says that San Francisco likely won’t be swayed too much by his 2017 performance.
