Shelton: Pirates have had positive coronavirus test “organizationally”

Major League Baseball is back, and with it comes an influx of testing for the coronavirus. Yesterday the league and MLBPA released the first results of their joint testing efforts. There were 38 total players and staff members who tested positive, 31 of those being players.

No players were included on the report, despite many names being released following the report, out of privacy. The Pirates didn't have any such rumors, but on Saturday manager Derek Shelton told media they did have a positive test "organizationally".

This per our Pirates insider Alex Stumpf:

Shelton said the Pirates have, “organizationally,” had people test positive for COVID-19.
