The Pirates have placed Michael Feliz on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation and recalled fellow righty Clay Holmes from Class AAA Indianapolis.
“We asked him to throw almost 70 pitches in two days, and we knew we were going to need a pitcher for today anyway, and so we were working through what the move would be,” general manager Neal Huntington said of Feliz. “Michael said he just [had] a little bit of tightness, a little bit of inflammation in his shoulder, so much like we did with Richard, an opportunity to knock that inflammation out of there.
